Mr. William Hamilton “Billy” Collins, age 78, of Tyrone, passed away on April 6, 2023. Billy was born on April 14, 1944 in Fulton County (Stonewall, Georgia) to the late Earl Hamilton Collins and Evelyn Marie Hurst Collins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Collins. He faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force. Upon completion of his service, he spent his career as an Aircraft Mechanic and worked many years for AeroSpec at Falcon Field in Peachtree City.

Billy’s main priority in life was taking care of his family. He would always tell others how much he loved “his girls”. When his son-in-laws and grandchildren came along, he loved them just as much and was always looking to spend time with them. Since his retirement, Billy enjoyed spending time in his shop fixing and making things. He was always looking for his next project. He loved being in the mountains and sitting on the porch relaxing and listening to the rain and country music.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Brooks Collins; daughters, Melissa Lyle (Keith) and Natalie White (Martin); brother, Floyd Collins (Donna); sister, Pat Evans (Richard); grandchildren, Brody Lyle, Matilda Lyle and Gavin White; nieces, nephews and extended family. Family will receive friends on Monday, April 10, 2023 at the Higgins Hillcrest Chapel in Newnan from 5:00-7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Higgins Hillcrest Chapel, 1 Bullsboro Drive, Newnan, Georgia, 30263. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
