Obituary for Walter Newman III

Walter J Newman
May 18, 1960 –February 16, 2023

It is with profound sadness that the family of Walter Newman announces his peaceful passing on February 16, 2023, at the age of 62, at his home in Lagrange, Georgia after battling cancer.

Walter was born in Odessa, Texas on May 18, 1960, moving to Georgia when he was an infant. He was the son of the late Walter Junior Newman and the late Annie Mae Osborne Newman Clayberger. Walter knew early in life that building was his calling. Walter (Bubba) as his family and friends know him as, built thousands of houses all over the Atlanta, Ga and surrounding areas. Bubba in his spare time liked to hunt and spend time with his family.
Bubba was an excellent father and astounding mentor who no matter what provided for his family and children. Walter fought with every ounce of his soul and heart and made peace and love on this earth, as best he could. To his children, he will be known forever as an unyielding titan and to his friends he will forever be an unyielding soul.

Bubba leaves behind his children Robert Newman, Tommy (Bailey) Newman, Austin (Sawyer) Newman, Leslie Newman, Christopher Kolman and Justin Hudson and four grandchildren. Bubba also leaves behind his brother Timothy Newman and sister’s Martha Scott, Deloris Shepherd, Sarah Newman, Shelia Shipes, Georgia Eiland and Lorrie Young. Bubba had many nieces and nephews, whom he loved unconditionally.

In his true style, Bubba fought the good fight; and got the last word. A quote from Bubba’s favorite movie Shawshank Redemption; Life comes down to a simple choice “You either get busy living or you get busy dying”.

Donations for Walter (Bubba) to cover memorial expenses can be made to Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand, Lagrange, Georgia (706) 884-5626.
