Mr. Robert Hilman Standard, Jr., age 93, of LaGrange, passed away on March 28, 2023. Mr. Standard was born on February 18, 1930 in Atlanta to the late Robert Hilman Standard, Sr. and Mattie Lee Groce Standard. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired from Milliken as a Shop Forman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Groce Standard, his second wife, Dorothy Gibbons Standard, a son, Larry Standard, a brother, W.C. Standard and a sister, Florine Messer.

Survivors include his daughter, Peggy Upchurch and her husband Marty; son, Jimmy Standard; brother, Bobby Standard and his wife Nancy; sister, Joyce Wilson and her husband Tom; grandchildren, Cindy Smith (Timmy), Pam Bagley, Terri Duke (Ellis) and Chris Standard; ten great grandchildren, eight great great-grandchildren; extended family and his much loved canine companion, Benji.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand Chapel with Pastor Tommy Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home.
