Pastor Wendell William Brown, Sr., age 78, of LaGrange, passed away on August 2, 2023. He was born on June 8, 1945 to the late Thomas Jefferson Brown, Sr. and Myrtle Elizabeth Matthews Brown in Troup County, Georgia. He was the Senior Pastor of Flat Shoals Baptist Church in LaGrange/West Point. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald Brown and Jeff Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Ann Daniels Brown; sons, Wendell William Brown, Jr. (Tracey) and Rayford Perry Brown (Sandy); brothers, Theron Brown (Janice) and Edwin Brown; grandchildren, Rebecca Ewing (Ryber), Amanda Blair (Gary), Wendall William Brown, III (Caroline), Randall Scott (Jessica), Daniel Meadows, Sam Brown, Colton Hammond, Wyatt Meadows; great grandchildren, Makayla Blair, Braylin Blair, Ayden Brown, Annabel Brown, Alton Brown, and Mason Scott; nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends.

The funeral service will be held at Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand on Saturday, August 5, 2023 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Aaron McCollough and Pastor Lamar Womack officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Flat Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery.
