Obituary for Michael Thompson
John Michael Thompson, 56, of Pine Mountain, Georgia passed away in his sleep while in New Mexico on Wednesday, June 14, 2023.
Michael was born on October 26, 1966 in LaGrange, Georgia to the late Virgil Larry Thompson, Sr.. and Carolyn Still Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Ann Vietti Thompson, brother Larry Thompson, Jr., Nephew Jonathan Thompson and his wife Shaleeia Thompson along with a great niece Finlee Ann Thompson.
Michael and Melissa spent the past 11-years traveling loving life. Over this time they were able to visit 30-states, 13-national parks and 37-national forests. Michael loved camp hosting and made many lifelong friends along their travels.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Grove Church on Oak Grove road in Pine Mountain, Georgia. All friends and family are invited to attend. Flowers are welcome or if you wish, you can make a donation in Michael’s memory to his childhood church, The Oak Grove Church in Pine Mountain, Georgia.
