Harold LeVoy Harris, age 89, of LaGrange, passed away on January 8, 2023. He was born on March 8, 1933 to the late Brenton Harris and Viola Bell Brown Harris in Clay County, Alabama. Mr. Harris was in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He was a long time member and Deacon of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Jonesboro and later became a Deacon at First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange. He also helped the LaGrange community serving with Gideons International, Meals on Wheels, The Clothes Closet, Merrymakers, and the Senior Choir. Mr. Harris retired from Ford Motor Company where he worked in the Materials Department. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nelda Hanners Harris and his brother, Bill Harris.

Survivors include his sons, Mike Harris (Bobbie) and Kenny Harris (Christine); daughter, Debbie Hughes (John) and Trish Popma (Scott); brother, Edward Harris (Jane); sister, Bobbie Pike; brother-in-law, Billy Hanners; grandchildren, Jenifer Griffis (Greg), Jay Hughes (Melissa), Kim Hill, Jason Harris, Hannah Harris, Matthew Harris (Jordan), Jonathan Harris (Monica), Jordan Kirby and Kristin Kirby; eight great grandchildren and extended family and friends.

The family will have funeral services on Friday, January 13, 2023 at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand beginning at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.
