Mrs. Carolyn Marie Gay Young, age 82, of LaGrange, passed away on January 22, 2023. Mrs. Young was born on July 23, 1940 in LaGrange to the late Henry Gay and Mary Segrest Gay. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Basil Ray Young and her sisters, Wanda O’Neal and Gail Myhand. As a military wife, she cared for the needs of her family wherever they were located. Later in life, after settling back in LaGrange, she was the co-owner of Flink’s Florist for many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Johnson and her husband Phillip; grandchildren, Macey Allen (Cody) and Preston Johnson; extended family. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 3:00 pm at the Shadowlawn Cemetery with Pastor Mike Reaves officiating. Family will have a time of visitation from 2:00-3:00 pm at the funeral home on Thursday prior to the service. The committal service will directly follow the funeral and will be held at Restlawn Memory Gardens.
